What People are Saying:

“From the first day until the last, and every day in between, the staff of full recovery was nothing but the best.  My time and experience at full recovery gave me the tools I need to live not only a life of sobriety, but taught me how to be a better person. I am 100% confident that there is no better program.”
– Ryan S.

“To anyone considering Full Recovery for treatment of addiction, make the phone call.  I am forever grateful to the staff (who I consider my friends now) and my experience there.  This is coming from someone that was in complete denial that I had a problem with alcohol and at the same time frightened to admit it and fearful of even entertaining the thought of going to rehab.

I could not have been more wrong once I admitted to myself I had a problem, from my initial phone call, to my first consultation, I was completely put at ease and could not wait to start my program.

This is a very caring group of people and you are not treated like a number.  They were willing to customize the sessions based on the “needs” of the individuals or whatever the group felt was an important topic in attaining sobriety.

I totally came away from Full Recovery with all the tools to stay sober and they gave me a great outlook on life and completely changed my attitude which had been in a very bad place while abusing alcohol.  They kept the sessions and discussions very real even humorous at times but at the same time got the serious points across to educate me about my addition and filled my “toolbox” to take into the real world of sobriety.

And my biggest hang up prior to taking this step was the thought of “how can I never drink again”.  I thought I could not have fun anymore.  Well I was so wrong again.  The fact is drinking was not fun anymore especially for friends and family that I so negatively affected.  And now I cant imagine ever drinking again and I have never been so aware of the wonderful things around me, how caring my family is and yes I went through the holidays not even thinking of a drink, New Years and all and it was the best holiday I can remember (literally) ever having.

I already miss going there but the nice thing is they have an open door policy and I am welcome to come back anytime and I will take them up on the offer!”

Forever Grateful,

Brian F.  North Jersey

It is very difficult for me to express in words my gratitude to Full Recovery.  We had exhausted all other avenues for my brother’s  treatment.  The Full Recovery team not only attacks the addiction but also the lifetime road of recovery.  They have instilled in my brother a reason for his existence and his very important self-worth.  Our thanks to  Full Recovery for coming into our lives.

Full Recovery showed me how to stay sober by laying a foundation in the 12 step program of Alcoholics Anonymous. Beyond that, Full Recovery showed me how to achieve a full and abundant life.  With guidance from their staff, combined with the opportunity to draw my own conclusions about the direction of my life, I saw I was not achieving the success and happiness I desired.  The Full Recovery Program got me excited about life again by allowing me to figure out what I truly wanted in life, and developing an action plan to achieve these goals.  Through self reflection, self discovery and working with the staff at Full Recovery, I have made great progress in understanding the importance of knowing who you are, what you believe in, what you want out of your life and how to make it happen.

“When I came into the full recovery program I was lost and confused. No goals, no purpose, and no real recovery. That is all changed today. With the guidance of the full recovery team I not only got my pre-addiction self back, but became a better person than I ever was before. They helped me realize the goal isn’t just to stop drinking, its to start living.”

I have been to 4 treatment Centers and nothing worked until I found Full Recovery. The Full Recovery team helped me to understand that recovery is more than abstaining from opiates, it’s about discovering my talents and living life to the fullest. I just celebrated 3 years clean and sober and graduated from college. Thank you Full Recovery!

When my parents asked me to go to Full Recovery Independence Manor I refused. Then  I spent 3 more months hitting bottom. When I finally arrived I was really  hurting. The house, the coaches, the program and the environment is different from the other programs I’ve been to.  From the moment they met me at the airport I knew this place was different. Full Recovery helped me discover how much fun recovery can be.

At Full Recovery I was treated like a client… Not a patient.  After being in and out of places where I was looked down upon for addiction problems, the staff at Full Recovery respected me as a person.  They understood what I was going through, because many of the counselors  had once been in my shoes too.   That made all the difference to me.  I knew that if they could do it…  with their support, I could do it too!   After battling my addiction for years, I am proud to say that I have been sober for over 2-years, and I still stay in touch with the Full Recovery team.  I truly feel I have a lifetime of support.

What People Are Saying About the Full Recovery Book

I was addicted to drugs and alcohol for 33 years.  I was a highly functional alcoholic who was able to hold various well paying jobs in the Pharmaceutical Industry and on Wall Street. .  In January of this year I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to Brian McAlister’s seminar in New York City.  I began to implement what I had learned from Brian the very next day at work. The difference was apparent and immediate. My personal stress level was decreased dramatically…  I recommend  the face to face interaction with Brian at one of his seminars to anyone who could use a Fresh, Honest, and Enlightened download of matter of fact personal insight.  If you really can’t do that; “It’s In The Book.”   Check it out; “FULL RECOVERY.”

Your book is fantastic! I typically use a highlighter when I read books like Full Recovery.  It quickly became almost comical to me because I found myself wanting to highlight EVERYTHING… Seriously.  There was a great flow and no wasted words.  The entire book resonated deeply with me and I found myself nodding along in agreement as I turned the pages. You have a great gift for communicating ideas in an inspiring, accessible and conversational tone. Full recovery is a great expansion and extension of the 12 Step recovery world – BUT I couldn’t  help  but think that ANYONE could benefit from the insights and suggestions inside…the wisdom applies to all!

I work at the Mclean Residence at The Brook, www.mcleanresidence.org , a 90 day transitional living program and the counselors have been using your book in therapy groups.  Additionally, we have purchased several copies for the resource library and I have received really positive feedback from our staff!  I would encourage you to market to treatment facilities for use in groups and for clients- it is a GREAT resource!

“How-To” books are valuable assets when one is beginning the journey of recovery. Brian McAlister’s Full Recovery goes beyond that. It is a “Why-to” book. The rewards for trying to live a life that concentrates on physical, spiritual and emotional recovery, as detailed in Full Recovery, are powerful motivators. The author achieves his stated mission and we are the beneficiaries. Do as Brian suggests and you will enjoy full recovery.

Sr. Maurice Doody, Dir. Office of New Directions

Three years ago I met Brian McAlister. After twenty-five years in recovery and reaching a transition to a later stage in life I was searching for new direction but could not seem to focus on what I really wanted. I began reading Brian’s manuscript and was inspired almost immediately. Full Recovery has provided the inspiration, motivation, and the how-to for me to set a new direction for a full and abundant life in recovery. I live a holistic life today and am able to share my story and work with others looking for inspiration and hope. Through his determination and courage Brian has reinforced my belief that we are all capable of an abundant and successful life. This is the true gift of recovery.

Brian F., Holistic Addictions Practitioner

I have been lucky enough to be able to attend a Full Recovery workshop with Brian McAlister and review his book Full Recovery.  Brian is a dynamic and engaging speaker. He shares his varied experiences, successes, and failures in a humble and human manner.  Individuals from every strata of life can identify and learn from his words.  The Full Recovery workshop and book encourages readers to be actively engaged in reaching a full potential, and therefore a greater peace and fulfillment in life.  In this book, I found an outline for self-discovery that is straight forward, realistic, and palatable.  This outline enabled me to address fears, identify desires, create goals, and come to action  achievement.  I have recently been catapulted into a fourth dimension of life and attained a greater happiness that I ever thought possible: You can too.

Emily R. Maier, L.S.W., M.S.W. (NJ state Licensed Social Worker, Masters of Science in Social Work)

Full Recovery goes beyond getting sober and teaches the steps for true self-discovery and healing. Finally – a book that thoroughly addresses life after sobriety. Brian lays out an action plan, not only for a successful sustained recovery, but for a successful life!

The BEST book I’ve ever read…And I read a lot of them! This book is a must read for anyone who is in recovery for addiction (and it just might be a must read for anyone who wants more out of life). Brian’s take on rebuilding and re-launching your life after suffering from addiction is right on point… He knew where I was coming from and pointed me in a new direction on how to get where I really wanted be. I can’t say enough… and what I will say isn’t going to do it justice, so I’ll just say to you: READ THIS BOOK! You won’t be disappointed.. And if you know someone who is recently sober and trying to get his or her life back on track, BUY THIS FOR THEM! It will be the best gift you can give them.
